thinking to buy 1991 4 runner 2wd

hi buck, new guy here,, disabled retired viet vet,, i have a 98 exploeder ford im thoroughly disgusted with,XXXauto trans,, i have found a 91 4 runner 2 wd for wife,, mebbe,, V6 auto, 2 wd 223 k miles,, 1800,, not Nice not real rough,, sortaz averagefor desert i thing
,, no obvious wreck damage, no rust, no obvious leaksare there any obvious problems with this model,,, auto trans??? cam belt ptoblems?? anything,, how far could i get with this car before its considered worn out, thanks, buck

$1800 doesn't sound like a very good deal, especially for a 2wd. The prone problems on these runners include the auto trans blowing, the V6's headgaskets blowing, and not too much else. Beyond that, timing belt and other intervals, and fixing random things that come up. I still consider them very reliable vehicles, but i'm biased to disliking the V6.

If you've got more time to search, you could likely get much better runners. That price could get you 4wd, documented maintance, lower miles, manual trans etc. At least in my part of the country.

How far can you get before it's "worn out". That's a loaded question for most any vehicle. It depends on previous maintenance, how you drive it, how you take care of it, and some portion of luck. Mine's on 300k on the second engine. Plenty of people get there on the first engine.
