Hi All, quick scenario. I need to get another SUV with a third row but i don't want to get rid of my 4Runner, I love my 4Runner. Especially the sport!

But I have another kid on the way, a boy, i have a daughter now. I need the third row. But I don't want to go to the Sequioa or Land Cruiser.

The question is, can I get a Sport with the third row and or leather?

Doe anyone here have one or know someone who does?

Thanks in advance!

Sports Edition with X-Reas for whatever wierd reason is incompatible with 3rd row seating. It beats the hell out of me why. Hope some one has an answer.

I remember something about that but correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't the limited have an available third row, and doesn't that have X reas and self leveling suspension?

No third row with X-REAS, PERIOD!

Thanks Koz, guess I have to go with the GX 470 or the Land Cruiser.

I like the aftermarket third row seats better then the OEM side-folding seats. You may want to look at them!

I got aftermarket leather installed on my SR5 seats. They were made to fit and the leather is thicker than the Toyota leather. We had a chaffing problem with one of the back seats when folding it over. The upholstery place came to my house and fixed it on the spot. Talk to you local dealer and see who they use for this type of service.

If you do it in the next few weeks let me know how it works out. The wife is due the end of Feb so I was hoping to get it and install in January or early Feb.

Hi Mike, congrats on the baby, we're due the first of February. I'll definitely be doing this in the next couple of weeks and I'll then post some pics and write up.

Don't worry, my kids won't be riding back there, nor will any adults. It's mostly for my 2 dogs and some stuff. I know, i know, all that trouble for 2 dogs.....they won't ride in the back comartment without protest. They're very spoiled!

They will ride on the back seat on either side of my daughter's child seat, but with the next child taking up the rest of the middle row, I will need another row for them.

If I may ask, why are you so concerned with getting XREAS? Why not get a Limited or an SR5 and add coilovers? Handling will be the same (if not better) and you will get the 3rd row.

If you have to have a 3rd row and XREAS, only the Limited has this option. Special Ordered ONLY!! You cannot have the Air-bag suspension with 3rd row, but you can have XREAS with 3rd row. I doubt you'll find any dealer with this option though. (this is per Toyota's web site for the 2008 4runner).

Oh, and not to add concern, but aftermarket 3rd row seats are not certified for safety. To me, this is too big of a risk as the seat could fail or cause injury. 3rd row in the 4Runners have the shoulder belt option bolted to the body. Aftermarket would be a lap belt bolted to the seat.

Congrats to you as well! I look forward to seeing how it turns out. My bigger boys (10 & 6) are looking forward to riding back there. They are smaller tikes so they should be comfortable.

I wasn't looking for Xreas, i like the sport and I would like a third row. If I have to get a limited I would, but I decided to keep my truck and get an aftermarket seat....for my dogs.....and the aftermarket seats are safety rated.
