This Check Engine Light Is Killing Me

had the same problem even with a new cat. I just cut a steel sleeve to the o2 sensor dimension and put it over the second o2 sensor, embedded in hi-temp thermal paste. That blinds the second o2 sensor with doesn't serve any purpose beside telling your your cat is not doing it's job. The o2 still gets hot so you get your full closed loop operation.

I can't tell by the picture, but does the sleeve have one closed end? Also, since the thermal conductivities of different metals vary, was there one metal that you used specifically?

Sleeve is open both ends. I used a sleeve slightly smaller than the o2 diameter, and cut a small slot to fit it on. Both o2 and sleeve are steel related material and on such small components I don't think the thermal dilatation matters much, it didn't in my case. All imbeded in 2000 degree thermal paste including the slot.

You can do this hack fix to get rid of the light and the fault. Make sure your car has set all of the drive cycles first and don't clear the fault like I did or they won't set. Just do the fix and drive it until the light goes out on its own. I have not checked mine in a couple of weeks to see if the O2 sensor drive cycles have reset. I'll check it tomorrow and report back.

I desperately need help as nobody can figure this out.

I was getting a p0171 code when I bought this truck. The previous owner had replaced bank 1 O2 sensor.
I replaced MAF sensor, Throttle position sensor, pcv valve, spark plugs, coils, catalytic, found and fixed two vacuum leaks and one exhaust leak. Nothing helped.

Decided to check the O2 sensor that the previous owner had replaced. Apparently he had the wrong sensor. It's a Cali emission with A/F sensor. Bought Denso A/F and replaced it. Now got a new code P1133 A/F Sensor Slow Response.

Any ideas?

Check the air induction carefully. See if there are any cracks in the induction boot or hose issues.
