This is impossibly splendid!

As a criminal profiler, this is my bet on what really happened. He was driving down the road, shimmy started for the last fawking time, and he just jerked the wheel off the cliff intending to die along with the damn steering shimmy. Little did he know - he did die. This is hell where he's called a liar and his punishment is driving a 4th gen with steering wheel shimmy.

Lighten up Francis...it was joke:hunter:

Why would he try to attract attention to his insurance fraud? That makes no sense.
What he told insurance company probably doesn't match up with the Reddit story, and is probably closer to the truth. Probably something along the lines of "I don't know what happened. It must have slipped out of park and rolled down the hill while I was doing ______, outside the vehicle."

“We now live in a nation where doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals, and our banks destroy the economy.” ― Christopher Hedges

Well I’m a large bank regulator working for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and I can assure you that banks do not destroy the economy.

Bankers do. You must be familiar with Bob Rubin as one example of many.

I hope that dude bought a lottery ticket that day.

I too am pretty skeptical he simply "walked away" from that. I suppose he could have squeezed out by the steering wheel to self extricate himself. Stranger things have happened, I guess. I have seen people worse off with less damage but hey I am no expert either.

Wow, you really do work for Fed/Banks. Replace one bad choice for another.
And here I was hoping to talk of the Constitutionality, or lack there of, of Central Banking(Federal Reserve).. you couldnt have said "put it all in Gold"

Guess you missed the sarcasm? At least the fiat currency has a standing army behind it.

What an interesting comment from an alleged bank regulator.

By the way, if you haven't owned Bitcoin (or Ether, or any crypto for that matter) yet, and didn't sell it all AF last Winter..?

Keep HODLing!

LOL

No fundamentals backing Bitcoin other than speculators and the cost to mine coins. Also, no standing military behind the cryptos and they’re being hacked leafy and right.

By the way, my comments about crypto were not directed at you specifically, I think every bank and official monetary authority on the planet has done lots of DD and analysis.

I agree Bitcoin has no fundamentals as an asset left but perceived, subjective value going forward.

I should point-out that it's not the Bitcoin itself being hacked but usually the exchanges' infrastructure. Unless BTC really is an NSA, back-doored mark-of-the-beast experiment (tinfoil hat required), it's had everything thrown at it and it's simply not hackable. Lightning, increased complexity and further "technical debt" may change that but who knows... The Ethereum network did actually get hacked badly more than once and the whole DAO/Mircea Popescu fiasco was one of the most hilarious "financial" circuses I've ever seen.

The planet knows about it, the financial system knows about it, the average person won't go near it due to lack of understanding and present cost and ability to use it, large-scale OTC, options and leveraged trading... The concept is here to stay but the reality is Bitcoin Core specifically is a highly compromised technology now even from a layman's point of view. It did exhibit a few lovely textbook manias, complete gifts for anyone invested if they knew what was happening and provided so much entertainment though (among other things).

The chances of a Bitcoin investment, or any crypto investment, beating any market now in terms of purchasing power/unit are about the same as a guy living through an 800' tumble down a mountain in a steel box IMHO but stranger things have happened...

Thanks for entertaining a bit of chat.

Completely agree, especially with last paragraph. Ultimately, regulation will be the demise of speculative crypto and it’s coming. We have groups dedicated to this.

Maybe this 4Runner rollover survivor should try the Niagra Falls in a barrel thing? Or wing suiting through a narrow gorge?
