I'm not saying they're not worth that price, but I could easily find an unmodified 100 series Land Cruiser in that range, which is arguably the better choice.

Damn! Dudes' for the 3rd gen CO game on lock.
CO prices are pretty parallel to CA and OR.
They are high, but that's what they sell for, so why would you ask any less?!

Crazy! Although I did have a guy offer me $9k for my rig as is the other day. I'm in MA, maybe the 3rd gens are starting to creep up in value? I know good examples are getting hard to find.

I shopped for about 5 months for mine. 2000 sport 4x4 and it's in So Cal. I paid 6K for her and thought it was a decent price for what I was getting at least out here.

So Cal prices are higher than the rest of the country for sure because mostly they're rust free, ALTHOUGH... I saw a lot of nice looking trucks on the top that were rusty underneath as sellers have figured out they can buy crappy trucks from the rust belt/east coast and drive them out here and sell them as CA trucks to those that don't know and make a few thousand per truck. And a lot of them were from transplants too out here so finding a true CA truck is little more difficult.

You're right. I saw a clean 1997 Limited 4x4 with 92k miles. Ran the carfax, turns out the car was imported from Montreal to US in 1999. Only 2-3 years in salt road places, but still a gamble.

Dealers in the west know that a 4x4 will fetch a handsome premium in mountainous areas, along with being a Toyota.

You guys should look at the prices of Tacomas in the same areas. Just plain stupid on how expensive they are.
