This seems like the 6th gen 4Runner

This is why I made an effort to buy a 5th gen before the 6th gen comes out. It looks like every other mom-mobile out there. I wish my 5th gen had less miles but it should hold its value a while if this really is the 6th gen.

Nobody knows what the 6th gen 4runner will be or if there will even be one. My best guess (operative word being guess) is that the 5th gen is the last 4runner to be sold in the US.

I hope they keep making them. Just more manly and add a v8 again, or diesel!

Will be highly unlikely as emission and CAFE standards are going up. You are more likely to see a hybrid or turbo motor than V8 or diesel. We can all dream though.

Got my 2017 while I could then. Aren't they changing the engine in the 2018? I bet they'll make it more eco-friendly. If they made a diesel 4runner I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I bought my 16 because I'm afraid they will screw it up!........3.5 and a new front clip would be what I expect and that's a fatal screw up IMO. 3.5 is death in a heavy 4Runner as it exists in the Tacoma.

Agree with many of the first replies ....looks like a big Highlander and something like Nissan did after their square Pathfinders when they went more “crossover”. Have a Canadian 4ROR coming in a couple weeks and am so glad they didn’t change much in the 2018 model !

LC Prado is here already as Lexus GX. 4runner shares the same platform as both of them, and is built in the same plant.

Fortuner is based on the Hilux, which is not sold here so it'd be an unneeded hastle to import as a new 4runner. Also they look like shit compared to a 4runner. They are not some crossover joke however as some have implied. Source: spent a month in west africa.
