Hey folks, not a 4runner owner yet but in the market. My dad worked for Toyota for 25 years and he LOVED 4runners. Anyway, I need a car and I want a runner, this one is gorgeous but for 9K? KBB has it at like $5600. Can some of you pros tell me 1)is this a decent price 2)fill me in on why runners are so expensive. Granted, I get that they run forever but is that the only reason? Thanks guys, love the site!

Prices fluctuate on 4Runners depending on the area. You'll find the highest priced trucks in the PNW. I think 9k is still high I bought mine a few years back with less miles for about that in Seattle. But I wouldn't say that price is unusual to see. Offer him $7.5k and see what happens I say

Don't forget to get proof that the timing belt has been replaced. There is often a tag in the engine compartment. If not done subtract $700 from the price. That 4Runner IS beautiful and the tire/wheel upgrade is probably worth $500-$600.

Good call on the wheel/tire combo. He said he has paperwork for timing belt and water pump at 120k Miles. I'm thinking its pretty saucy. I'm thinking I want it. Thanks for the replies!

That one is quite nice. You can tell someone actually kept it up, rather than just drove it.

Those rims look great against the black; for those rims it is mandatory to be lifted, even just a little. I saw those rims on a silver 2wd stock height not too long ago and....well, the owner should have invested in a lift.

Toyota 4wd prices never surprise me up here. I do think it's a bit much, but it does look super clean. Agree to see if and when they did the timing belt and all the other bits.

I am paying that for my 2000 I am going to pick up this next weekend, but the one I'm getting also only has 81k on the clock. If you could talk him down to 8k I'd buy it. Does it have the difflock?

Thoroughly check the paint when you check it out. Pictures often make the paint look much glossier than it really is.
