Those running the OE Toyota oil filter: how many miles?

Since I went to 10,000 mile oil changes on my T4R (8,000 when I'm towing harder than usual) with full syn, I began using the M1 filter mainly for the extended mileage. But I've noticed that a number of the forum members are also running full syn at extended drain intervals using the OEM oil filter. I'm just curious what everyone's thoughts are regarding how many miles you put on the OE oil filter before changing.

Not sure....I'm running the Amsoil Ea15K filter with Amsoil 5w-20 Max performance full synthetic. My GUESS is the OEM meets a certain manditory spec while Amsoil, Mann, Wix, etc exceed the OEM specs. Check this out...

I'm an Amsoil preferred customer and have been running Amsoil ASM oil and Ea filters in my Mustang and it's not my DD. But I can't bring myself to change out Amsoil in the T4R every 4-5 months (that's about my 10,000 mile range) so I've been using M1 EP with M1 filters. I was just wondering if the OE filter can handle 10,000 miles.

I hear what you are saying from the 10K mile perspective, but Amsoil is the only one that I know of that actually prints/markets/publishes the oil interval changes, you can't find that with most other synthetic oil manufactures. My buddies changes his every 15K miles on his Dodge trucks and has had no issues. Most of the foreign car manufactures also do extended intervals as well, scary coming from the ole' 3000 mile MUST change interval of days gone past....time for me to EMBRACE technology....

5000 miles for Mobil 1 oil and oem filter. I don't need to push my luck.

Don"t waste you money on m1 oil filters, don't get me wrong Ive been using their synthetic for many years and paying 10.99 for filters until I realized its a waste of $$$.
Toyota filter (with the proper drain back valve) is only 3.99

Ive never gone 10k on an oil change but a lot of guys on tw do, and when it comes down to it I've never herd of someone that ruined their truck from running 10k on an oil change.
