Those that have installed a Prinsu rack on the 4th gen

I installed my Prinsu rack today and noticed that the front wind fairing was literally sitting on the roof. I used 3 washers in between the front spacers a rack, and 2 washers in between the the second from front spacers and rack to pull fairing off the roof about 3/16th. Are the rest of you adding anything at all to space the fairing off the roof or just running it as is?

Yeah I didnt think that that was the best idea. I feel like that even using that sealer would rub paint from the roof. I'm more curious why they didnt make the spacers the right height to begin with, and what others have done, if anything.

Mine cleared perfectly w/out washers (just the included spacers for the rack feet) I know other's have had issue's with the wrong fairing being sent (for a taco) that doesn't clear. I would contact Prinsu and let him/them know what's going on.

Mine was rubbing slightly, I ordered some edge trim from McMaster (this stuff: https://www.mcmaster.com/#12335a55/=19k3r74). Works like a charm. I had to order 10ft of it, I'd be happy to send you the rest if you want to split the cost. Shoot me a PM.

I bought mine when Prinsu was a one man operation. The previous owner wasnt the best at including all the "nuts and bolts". That might be an issue.
I'll contact the current owners of Prinsu and see if they can help out.

Thanks for the offer but I think Im going to steer away from this route. My experience with the edge trim was that it finished an edge nicely but tended to ware down paint when vibrating enough on it.

I got mine a month ago may be need to just the front wind dam.
There are holes on the side for different settings. I took a picture of mine to show how I got mine set and the space I have from the roof to the rack.

Mine fits fine. I just used a different set of holes on the side pieces to raise it a little.

Mine touches, but idgaf about scratches and paint rubbing off. Quite a few guys get the rubber trim piece and just put that there.

I would think that weather stripping on the paint would rub through very easily. I had a vinyl coated cable lock rub a gouge in my roof paint, didn't rub anything off the vinyl. Hopefully my rack is shipped soon and comes with the right stuff but I'm in on this thread for more fitment tips and pics!

I had the same issue. I received the incorrect front faring piece. I contacted Zach and he sent me a replacement pretty quick.

I think i received a Taco front faring. Contact him and take pictures and send to Zach. He should make it right.

After all that BS getting your rack your faring touched the roof of your rig?

I did not post anything about it due to thinking it was a mistake when he packaged it up. I bet he had a bunch of stuff cut wrong.

Hahah. Yeah. I mean I could bump it up a notch on the front or put a washer or two on the mounts, but I'm fine with it. hardly any wind noise and my rig is a trail rig. I've got far worse scratches and dents than what the fairing is going to do it.

Installed Prinsu rack this weekend

Had no issues with fitment at all, was a super simple bolt up and everything went together as advertised. I had the wind deflector cut out for a 40" light bar. Hardware was all correct too.
I did have to move the rear most crossbar forward to clear enough space for a Gobi ladder.

I asked on another thread already, but...

Anyone have any issues with rust on the hardware of their prinsu? I always use nothing but stainless on my vehicles, especially with it being on the roof, but the stuff they sent is 8.8 and looks decent and I'd rather not go spend more money on some stainless stuff, but don't want to find rust after all the snow and ice melts off in the spring. Just wanted to know before I go mount everything, Tia.
