It's very entertaining to watch the results whenever anyone posts something about the Pro. The same crew pops up and smacks it all around and blames the owners for this and that. I'm one and I've never really seen any of the 4runner Pro owners as being elitist and such. I know the thread I think that came from but that was just a very poorly worded thread that I believe meant no harm but the OP got hammered. Oh well. Makes good reading but gets kind of old with the same group of 5 or 6 taking the swings, lol. You guys keep beating that dead horse if it makes you feel cool and manly. It does make good reading.
On the topic. I also wish they would have reached into the TRD bin some more for more of those goodies. Many of those things would be cool but are very limited in any performance gains. The addition of more protection would be great but they have to worry about weight and MPG's. I really wondered if they had to lower the front end back down to normal height because with the nose in the air even that little bit they may lost some MPG's. The new BFG's are awesome and I hope they come standard instead of the Nitto's. In fact they should be an option or standard on the Trails.
As I've said in the past, I enjoy all of your rigs and live vicariously through you all because I can't do some of the mods you all have done until I get two daughters out of college and a son into one(or USMC, LOL). Just because someone types "Pro" doesn't mean that person has all of a sudden turned into an elitist. Far from it...we know it is a sub-model of a model and that is all...we really do get it.

Not sure you do. Threads like these are case in point - How many "Those with Limiteds - What Features Are Missing" threads do you see? Limiteds have more exclusive features than any of the other models, but you never see threads that are exclusively for Limited owners like you do for TRD Pro threads.

You guys have no idea. First and foremost, I think the TRD PRO is a cool truck and I would buy one if it had the few options I like and they didn't want to gouge me in price. I'm sure I could get the price where I liked but like most here I really like having a sunroof.
The problem is not the owner's being elitist at all. As a matter of fact there are several owners of the TRDPRO that are really nice and knowledgeable. My problem is with the minority of you who think you have something really, really special. Case in point: How many threads are started with "Will X fit my TRD PRO?" Never mind the Pro is just like all the rest of the 4Runners with no dimensional changes. Are they that dense and did they do no research? Also the TRD PRO thread. Jeez. It's like a room full of seventh graders in there and no adults around.
So to close you are not elitists. The vehicle is cool but nothing special like a GT40 or a GTR. There is a minority ownership that makes you all look bad by their ignorance, ineptitude and comments. The suspension is not special at all. the TE with KDSS is. Some of the owners are good guys, just like the general 4Runner owners. Got it?

You guys make me laugh, so thank you! I'm sure the new iteration of the 4runner brought in some new owners of the 4runner so they post on the internet on a forum for all models of 4runners including their own and get slammed all the time. Who's the elitist....?? Some may have posted some dumb stuff but in general most have been pretty cool and informative. I came from the Tacoma forums after a decade of Tacoma ownership. There was plenty of bashing there but this place takes it to a new level sometimes. I know I must be looking at it from a different angle so I will leave it be. All in all I still love this place.

Don't worry. Land Cruiser owners look down on Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, and 4runner owners like they're all redheaded step children.

Sweet mercy this is the truth. Go post a 5th gen build thread in the Land Cruiser section on expedition portal and prepare to get wrung out. Doesn't matter that it's a 150 series land cruiser under the body panels, it doesn't say LC on it.

Because it's not special like a TRDGTRGT40 Pro.
Smart key would have been nice. And a lower price to justify how different it isn't from the trail base. Maybe even some other cosmetic changes like a lower profile spoiler over the lift gate. Shrug.

Yet they shipped all Trail models with Dunflop radials(or similar)? Still confused by that.
Would have bought some of those wheels otherwise.
