Thoughts about my eventual lift/tire setup...

Here is what I am planning, eventually... Toytec coilovers up front with 600# springs, LC 80 front 8-wraps for my rear springs, LC tokico blacks for rear shocks. Diff drop up front, panhard adjustments as needed (drop bracket welded, most likely). I'm expecting 3" lift front and ~4" lift in rear, without adding weight.

I'm asking because I want to get a body lift in place before sliders go on, and I want sliders as one of my early additions.

Here is my question... I want to be able to clear 255|85R16, but I might do 285|75R16 at some point, as an option. Clearing the 255s at full stuff/turn is my bigger concern. I have a 1/2" body lift ready to install, but I'm not sure if that is enough. I don't want to lift ANY higher than I truly need to. I'm considering the 1/2" BL and then adding some material to the bump stops as I test it out (might be a suitable solution?). Or, should I just go get a 1" BL and be done with it?

If you don't want it to be lifted more than necessary just toss on what you have and then get the hammer out. It took very minimal work to get my 33s to clear everything but the fender itself. And that's more because I ran 285s with 4" bs wheels. With 255s I don't see you having the same fender issues I did

I just finished my Sonoran steel 1.2. And after adjusting a few things, I'm pretty happy with it. I have a 99 and ended up with a 2-1/2" lift in fron and about 4" in the rear with out the weight. As I type this the 285/75r16 dura tracs are getting put on and also the alignment. From what I've read there shouldnt be much of an issue with rubbing unless under full flex. Good luck weighing everything out. I was looking for weeks and finally pulled the trigger. I will probably still do a 1 to 1-1/2" lift down the road.

Thanks for the input all. rickashay's build looks excellent!

I suppose I can put everything on (with 1/2" body lift), and pound some spots, and maybe add height to the bump stops, and see where everything sits. It'll help that I will be holding off on bumpers for a while (current plans).

I need to get off my @ss and find the proper bushings and hardware to install my rear shocks. I have been lazy on that mod. I need to take some pictures of what I have (used setup) and ask some questions on getting all the right parts ordered to install.
