Throttle body spacer and cold air intake for high altitude usage

Please let me offer a different perspective: I notice a greater improvment in ability to pull in the mountains w/o hunting for gears in my heavy 2014 with 33" tires and 4.56 gears than I notice in my 1997 with a supercharger with OEM tires.

Or another way to look at this OPs question is this - when does traffic ever move faster than 50 mph anyway going up to the mountains on I70 to necessitate more power anyway?

Buehler?

doing less than 50MPH you would down shift to a lower gear . if required . engine should have good power , less than 50 MPH.

above 50 MPH the design is not a lambo so wind drag will effect your ability to move up the mountain.

Logically and clearly explained. I was an aircraft engine mech in "another life" but, the logic of fossil fuel burning engines is exactly same. Yes, one can wait till EV comes to a 4Runner then, no loss of power issues at high altitude...hell no! Having also experienced the loss of power issues just last week in CO, I am confident that my 2020 TRD Pro's 4.0's OEM MAP sensors will compensate with time and miles. Lets keep our engines tuned and use clean intake filters. Keep on truckin!

My AFE intake dyno results bear fruit which is on the front page of the 5th gen page.

If I lived at elevation I would absolutely regear, tune, and add an intake. It is completely transformative especially when 285's are in the mix.
