so i was on my way to work today and went to pass a slowpoke on a two lane road (in a passing zone btw) and as im getting by the person, the throttle sticks.:wtf: so now im going about 55 mph in a 35 and it keeps going faster. instincts kicked in and i threw it into nuetral and shut the car off, hit the hazards and let myself come to a complete stop. now i had heard this can happen from a friend with a V8 04 Limited, but i figured it wouldn't happen to me. anything i can do to prevent this from happening again?

This may sound stupid but it has happened to me. The carpet piece on the drivers side floor has two lug holes that need to engage the two lugs on the floor. If this is not done the carpet moves forward and can actually hang up the gas pedal. The car wash pulls this piece out and never puts it back right. Since 4th gens are drive by wire there is no throttle cable to stick.
