Throttle hesitation

2001 3rd Gen Throttle hesitation

All,

When in park or drive, warm or cold engine, when I push the gas pedal on my 2001 V6 with 96k the engine does a 'burr-AAHHhhhh'. It's like it suddenly dips down in RPM then revs high to meet where the RPMs should be. Kinda makes me think it's running rich. Note: I happened to notice it over the past couple of days which have been humid and rainy. This, in my past with other cars, can sometimes mean it's time for a new cap and wires.

This is no doubt a common issue as my research on here has pointed to either the MAF, maybe wires and plugs, or a fuel filter. Figured I'd ask on a new thread anyway as the weather is crummy and I can't crawl around under my hood for a couple hours testing my own theories.

Any thoughts? Anyone? The throttle hesitation seems to now be messing with my tranny and shifting gears as it's clunking when I let off the gas and press back on it. I'm going to change the wires, plugs, cap, maybe the MAF, IAC, and fuel filter. Hopefully it hasn't messed with my tranny.

Mine is doing the same thing any fix or solution on your end. If I give you an email can you send me that video it won't play I want to see if it's the same as mine. Thanks

Mine ended up being the MAF sensor, clean it and tightened it good and the truck was good as new.

Whens the last time you changed your spark plugs?
Start with cleaning your MAF sensor and cleaning out your throttle body. If that does not work get some techron or seafoam (what kind of gas do you use?). If that does not work check your fuel filter. If that does not work might be fuel pump.

I just experienced this not a week ago. I opted to replaced my MAF sensor and it was like a new vehicle. Better MPG, smoother acceleration, etc.

New sensor and clean the throttle body.
