hello jlallen, mine does the same thing after my truck has been sitting for a bit after I shut it down. did some searching with people who have similar issues. The EGR tube inside your manifold just needs to be cleaned, you should be able to do this without tearing up your motor. I haven't done this yet, just be to lazy.lol. also, some sea foam could clear this up, or at least help improve the issue. and as far as the get up and go, this engine is definitely not known for its performance.lol. but I have see people check their throttle cable and adjust it if its lose, also, cleaning up the throttle body might work as well. but I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in. just telling you what I've seen in my searches here because I have the same issues. good luck with your rig. do you have any pics of it? :)

Ok thanks I will have to try cleaning that . And no I don't have any pics yet I would have if it wasn't snowing yesterday but I will get some when its god weather. And I just was wondering if maybe it was the tps sensor but I might try cleaning up the throttle body first maybe that might help

Did you test the TPS sensor?

Follow the links at the top of the classics section on where to download the Factory Service Manual, It explains how to test that, as well as everything else.
