thud under foot

Hey guys, I have been searching but cant't find anything in the threads history. Just wonder if anyone had experience a thud under the drivers feet. It only happends when you hit a bump. I was just thinking it may be our really cold weather at the moment reaking havoc on everything. In this cold you feel everything. I have never felt it before. But I don't drive our truck often. Thanks in advance for your time for checking out the thread.

How many miles?

Check the bushings on the major suspension components. Control arm bushings would be my fist guess, but also ball joint, tie rod ends, sway bar, etc... You may need to get it on some jack stands or a lift and see if you have play anywhere with the suspension unloaded.

It just dawned on me. The hydraulic fluid in the x-reas system is probably as thick as molasses. Its been very cold here at night its been getting down to almost minus 30 Celsius. That doesn't factor wind chill. Even though its in the garage, its damn cold. I'll just wait till it warms up a bit to really check it out.

I haven't had that, but the steering seems to have more resistance than usual. It's been absolutely freezing here. -6 this morning.

Sorry Carl I missed your question. The truck has just over 100k. I just bought it about 4 months ago. My mechanic didn't mention anything to do with any suspension work. But who knows. I will check the front end this weekend for any excessive play. Thanks for your info Carl.

-30c?!!! Yikes!

Cold does nasty things. Hardens bushings, stiffens suspension, drops tire pressure, etc... My wife's Murano is the biggest POS I've ever driven when everything is cold and stiff. Once everything warms up and loosens up, it's fine.

If the thunk wasn't there in much warmer times, it may be nothing...but I would still have it looked at.
