Thule rack

Does anyone know what Thule rack fits 2000 model 4runners? I'm looking for a fit kit that will work with the track built on the roof. Also could someone please post some pics of their rack mounting setup? Thanks

You'll want to get a set of the 430 Tracker II footpacks. They'll fit right into the factory rails. Then you just have to decide how wide of a bar you want. I went with as wide a bar as possible (65" bar. The width of the 4Runner with the wider flares is 66") so I had room to fit boards side by each and also I like to have a hanging spot for my wetsuit.

Most of the time I roll with just the caps on to save on any mpg's where I can.

Let me know if you want any different or closer pics.

Thanks for the info and nice 4runner. I'm planning on mounting my RTT and awning up there so I'll need 2 sets of everything for a nice stable platform. How does the footpack mount into the factory rails? Just slide them on or do they clip in? Thanks again

They slide in. You have to remove one of the end caps and you're good to go.

Hepar, where do I find your stockpile of sweet photos? haha I always love seeing your photos but always just have to stumble across them randomly...give us links!!!!

Lol. Thanks. What kind of photos do you want links to?

I know this is resurrecting an older thread, but if I get the 430 Tracker II kit, do I need another piece to make it work, or is everything included with the 4 foot kit?

You would still need to buy a set of bars and locks (if you want them).

Alright cool. I have the bars, keys and bike mounts from a previous car but I didn't know if I need vehicle specific feet or something to go with them.

Buying a set right now....

Thanks!

Hello,
I apologize if this has been answered already (newb, getting used to navigating the site).
I have a 2001 4Runner, it took part# Fit Kit 1064, that will work with both the 480&480R towers. Hope that helps.

Cheers...

I just bought a used Thule430 tracker rack on Craigslist. On the 1997 you need the TK1 fit kit to use the feet on the track of the 4runner rack.

And NO, you do not need to remove an end cap, the metal trapezoids op into the slot and when you use the Allen key to tighten down the TK1 the metal pieces rotate until they hit the sides of the channel and stay there as you torque them down snug.

The 430 and 430R Tracker is the older rack, the 460 and 460R I believe is the Podium series that fit their the aero bars as well as the old square load bars, but they use different fit kits than the 430 Trackers.
