Time for some new bumpers!

Well Uncle Sam was good to us this year and I was able to pay off the wife's van and some debt, so that leaves a little change in the pocket to finally do some upgrades to the runner. Only two options that I care for are cbi's and addicted offroad.

Pro to the cbi that I see is that it covers the winch, my dislike is the large cutouts in the front. It just doesn't flow well to me. Rear bumper dislike is having to move the spare tire. I don't think I would enjoy swinging the tire out every time I wanted to get something out of the back hatch.

Next is the addicted offroad. I like the way this bumper looks. My dislikes are that the winch is out in the open, don't mind the look of that, just seems it's not as protected as much that way. Wish they had round cut outs for driving/fog lights next to the blinkers. Rear bumper pro is that I can keep my spare where it was designed to go...out of the way!

Now for pricing. This is where I'm 99% sure I'm going with addicted. Cbi front and rear bumper come out to $1600 +tax and shipping. Addicted's complete hd package which includes front and rear bumper as well as sliders for $2020 shipping included. I don't need the sliders, but I truly don't need the bumpers either other than for a winch, but I figure the kids can use them as steps.

Now I have to chose what I want to finish them with. Originally was going to take everything in and get the line-x sprayed, but I'm thinking that all black might be too much darkness on my dark green runner. Not sure of the exact color, but the title office argued with me about it being blue, and finally settled on putting dark green on the title. Thinking of having all the armor and flares painted some shade of silver.

Anyone see any issue with the madness I have brought on myself?

If you don't like some part of the CBI, talk to them and they may add \ modify the holes or whatever else you don't care for. I have the CBI Rear and have had it for a while. Yes, the swing out tire rack would get old if you open it every day... But the advantages are more then the disadvantages. Just my 2 cents worth. I think the main thing is build your rig to how you need to, regarding how you're going to use it. Me... I like to explore and camp. So that's how it's getting built. I have the front CBI ordered and can't wait to get it. I've been looking for years on what I want. It's not perfect, but for cost and functionality I think it will suit me fine.

My buddy has there entire package and loves it. I have the front plate bumper and love it. I think you will be happy with Addicted's work. Just make sure you talk with them so you understand there turn times. Not sure how busy he is right now. Well worth the time it takes. The winch is well protected with the bar. But if you want road debris protection for winch just cover it up with a winch bag/cover.

Thanks, still undecided. I'll be calling both companies Monday. Only definite as of now is the addicted rear bumper. Think I'm going to pass on sliders for now as I'm more concerned with getting a winch.

dont forget about savage offroad.
i have his old front bumper, but the new one looks good. i have the cbi hybrid rear with swingout and really like it.
