Time to start with rust abatement & window spots

Weather has finally taken a turn for the better here so I went and purchased a few tools to start on the rust abatement.

Steps seem laid out - wheel/grind/needle, then rust halt stuff then fluid film type stuff.

Question now is - I see some rust spots by the windeshield and other windows.
How is it best to go about stopping that nonsense in it's tracks?

If the rust by the windshield looks to be coming form the seal around it, that is a b!tch to fix. It will be from shoddy windshield repair where they scraped the paint off and didn't bother to fix it before installing the new one. The rust will be under the windshield seal and will be impossible to completely remove without removing the windshield. I'd repair / repaint any visible rust you can find then spray rust inhibitor to keep it from progressing too far. If you drive in the salt then it's going to keep progressing under the windshield seal.

On the windshield part - I got a whole new windshield put in from a place for $225. I bet if you wanted to you could probably have a windshield shop pull your windshield so you could get in there to sand and paint then have them put it back in for cheaper than the cost of a whole new windshield.

That would be worth it to me to fix the problem vs. just trying to seal up the symptoms
