timing belt brand for our 3gen 4runners?

i don't when or if my timing belt has ever been changed and im at 140k miles. anyone know the factory brand thats used. wondering if i can buy online or if i have to go to the dealership to buy it? any help. thanks

You can get a replacement belt from the dealership or through an autoparts dealer (AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc.). I don't know what "brand" the OEM belt is for the 3.4 V6, but IIRC it was a Mitsubishi on my 3.0 V6 '90 truck. Other brands are Dayco, Gates, Goodyear, etc.

The belt is not that expensive. I only use original equipment. Why take a chance on a cheap belt.
