Thanks Click to expand... totally depends which 4runner you're talking about.. of the 4th gens, the v6's have the timing chain and the v8 2uz-fe has a timing belt. change every 100k.

TheDurk Elite Member Jun 24, 2013 #3 On 3g's, the fours have chains and the V6 3.4 has a belt. The belt is scheduled for 90k on '99's+ and 60k earlier, but they last much longer. I did mine at 120k. Don't know about the chains.
