I called the local dealers today getting quotes on replacing the timing belt/other belts, and water pump. All were insistent on also replacing the seals.

its 2002, 145,000miles. always used synthetic oil and very well maintained.

anyone have an opinion if replacing seals is necessary/benefit? any chance the factory installed seals are good and don't replace what isn't broke?

thanks

Replaced timing belt three times, twice on a 2001 I owned, once on the 1998 I currently own. All scheduled maintenance. Replaced cam seals and crankshaft seals each time. With covers, belts and all the other interference removed, replacing seals takes less than an hour labor. Worth it every 90k miles.
