Timing chain

Going to look at an 04 4runner today.Has the 4L v6.Was wondering is there anything specific to look for on these?Been reading about timing belts that need changed every 90000 but I think this is a chain.Do these need replaced regularly like a belt?Sorry for the newbie questions.Thank you

No, the V6 has a timing chain. It should last the life of the vehicle. With an 04 you need to carefully check the cooling system. Check the radiator/coolant. Be sure to run a scan guage tool on the OBDII and check to see if it has had a cylinder misfire (particularly cylinder 6) That is a sign that is has a blown/leaking head gasket. There are tons of 04's that are good and fine but the 03-05 have had more issues with the head gasket. Most issues are due to overheating... which is why you should check the cooling system/radiator/etc...
