Timing chains and cam shafts

Okay! So I was pulling apart the engine to do the Headgasket, my haynes manual says to set cylinder 1 at TDC. I did this, then looked at the cam sprocket, and it doesn't look right to me. It looks like my cam is re****ed one tooth (lol, it edited it). Have I got a stretched chain? or is just off a tooth? I haven't inspected the chain guides yet, so I don't know if I'll be replacing them, but I don't want to go further until I know what's wrong here. My haynes manual doesn't say much, that I've found at least, as to where the camshaft is supposed to be lined up.

You should ahve 2 off color links on the chain and they should line up w/ the marks on the cam and crank sprockets.

You would never replace the timing chain and not the guides. The guides are the weakest part.

Thanks all, however there don't appear to be any marks on the chain, PO has done a lot of goofy stuff on this rig, this may be a result. I'm thinking I'll just replace the chain and guides while I'm at the headgasket.
