Timing of winch installation

I'm planning out my 2013 4Runner projects and high on the list is a good bumper. I'm 95% certain to go with the Shrockworks model.

A little lower on my list is installing a winch. But I'm not sure how practical it is to install the winch after the bumper is on.

Can anyone with experience with this, particularly with the Shrockworks bumper, speak to the issue of winch installation and the timing?

it really makes no difference in the timing, in the end all your saving your self is pulling a few bolts off and removing the bumper, installing the winch, run the wiring on the truck and lift everything back on, though with that said, i hate doing work twice and would just prefer to do it completely the first time around....but really there's maybe an extra 20/30 mins of work your creating for yourself by not doing it at the same time.

There a little more that goes into removing our 5th gen bumper than some of our others. Usually it is just the bumper to frame bracket bolts, but in the case of the 5th gen bumper you also have to remove both the alumium skid and washer res. skid.

I myself am not particularly fond of the washer res. skid install, but its not exactly something that is intended to be done on a frequent basis either. If you must, it obviously can be done but I recomend doing it all up front.

Gotcha, in that case its less than half the work. 4 Bolts, unless you have already drilled and installed the 3/8" check bolts, in which case its only 2 more and the bumper is off...
