no stall in 1st 4L?
I have been reading a lot of articles that say you can roll in 1st gear, 4L, no gas no clutch and not stall at all. These seemed to be coming from people who had newer jeeps though... is this also true for our cars? Can I put her into 1st, 4L and crawl around without riding the clutch, and not giving any gas?

Not with stock gearing, unless it's pretty level and smooth. To not stall without giving gas, you need at least an 80:1 crawl ratio, and probably more like 120:1 and up. The stock 2nd and 3rd gen 4runners with 5 spds have a roughly 40 to 45:1 crawl ratio.
Jeep Rubicons come with a 4:1 transfer case, rather than the 2.7:1 that's in our vehicles. That gives them a crawl ratio up near 80:1. Combine that with a bigger, more modern engine, and they might be able to crawl with no gas w/o stalling, but it would still be marginal.
