Actually the rear GAWR is around 3400lbs so 1875 per tire would be plenty. None of this really matters because those people that would buy LT tires will only buy lt tires and those that want p tires will only buy p tires. Besides if p rated tires werent enough they wouldn't come with them from the factory.

You actually believe the GVWR of a 4Runner is 4200#? Hate to break it to you bud but that's called curb weight. Let me let you in on a secret Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is how much your vehicle weighs PLUS the maximum vehicle payload.
Try not to keep changing the discussion.
YOU made the statement that P rated are NOT acceptable for 4runners. NO ONE ELSE DID.

YES the 4runner has a GVW of 6000lbs...SO WHAT....I'll bet there are less then 2 people in this forum who's ever even come close to that. Even with my wife and all 3 adult children and all our gear doesn't even come close to that...so P rated tires are MORE then acceptable.
You've also made the GENERAL statement that ALL P rated tires are NOT acceptable. Well that's just blatantly WRONG. My 66 Fleetwood had a vehicle weight of 4500lbs and a GVW of over 7000lbs. You DON'T put LT tires on a Cadillac.

Mike you should stop before you embarrass yourself, fact of the matter is if you plan to ever do any towing or work with your truck/SUV you should consider LT tires. If not for your safety but the safety of others. Also you'd be surprised how easily it is to reach if not exceed the GVWR of a vehicle, I see people regularly post pictures in this very forum exceeding it. General consumers and obviously yourself are so ignorant an negligent towards GVWR's that most trucks have an understated payload for a safety factor.
Just because you CAN haul/tow all that weight doesn't mean you should. And no one is changing the subject except you by trying to avoid the fact you cannot tell the difference between your vehicles curb weight and gross weight.
I used to do hot shotting for a living at one point and have had more than my fair share of miles logged hauling. You wouldn't believe how many people I've seen running P tires on a truck to save a few bucks and then encounter a blow out. Had a friend with 3 general grabber P rated tires catastrophically fail under normal driving with his bed loaded with tools within his F150's GVWR.
And yes I would put LT tires on a Cadillac if it were an Escalade...
