Tire pics (be gentle)

Hey all! Been searching all day and cant seem to find what i'm looking for... I'm purchasing a set of Yokohama Geolander A/Ts on saturday, and im torn between 265/65/18, or 265/70/18. The truck has stock suspension right now, but will have Daystar next month. I'm wondering if anyone here has pics of those sizes on just a Daystar lift, and whether i will have rubbing issues in the brief time it will be stock. Any and all help is greatly appreciated

I'm at stock height right now with 265-70-17 Duratracs, which have a much beefier tread pattern with bigger lugs than the Yokos and have minimal rubbing. For me, it's only on the skirt between the wheel well and engine bay (near the shock assembly) and it's only at full lock. Every truck is different, but odds are that you'll be absolutely fine (i've never heard of anyone with severe rubbing at that size).

edit, nevermind, I saw that you're running 18's. Not sure about that. Sorry. The 265-65-18's should be fine (same size as 265-70-17).

I had 265/65/18 on when I was at stock ride height and there was rubbing on the front inner fender. It was avoidable by adjusting the inner fender forward using this guy's method. Toyota 4Runner Wheel Spacers

On the other hand, 265/70/18 is a relatively tall tire. I have a 3.5" lift in the front with shorter 275/65/18 tires and I had to move the inner fenders forward and remove the mud flaps. Some of that is due to the extra 10mm width and also because of the square shape of the Grabber AT2's but it's still a shorter tire than you're thinking of.

It depends a lot on your truck and the shape of the tire but I would be surprized if you could fit 32.6" tires without much modifications on a daystar kit.

i went to 265/65/18 with the daystar and had rubbing. very minor, trimmed the mudflap and pulled the liner forward. I think you will have all kinds of rubbing with the 265/70/18.

That's cool if you like the SE wheels but if you like the wheel's you have already you could go with the 265/65/18 and they would be almost exactly the same size as the 265/70/17.

i'm running the ms2. the mileage hit for the heavier tires wasn't worth it for me with all the highway driving i do. also, the 90,000 mile wear is a plus (i got 91,000 out of the first set). they do pretty well for what i need.

Before I installed the toytec lift. I was running 265/70/17 duratracs with the daystar leveling kit with no problems, I had previously trimmed and removed the front mudflaps because I had 20's with no lift.
