What is the best dd/ww AT/MT tire?

I have to say the Duratracs are the best daily driver weekend warrior tire compared to the BFG,Nittos or Revos I've driven on.
 
Nitto's, they were great on and offroad, quite too, BFG i have heard uneven tread wear and quick wear, but i hear they are good for ability.

Seeing alot of posts for the Duratracs but the BFG AT seems to be in the lead. What makes the BFG AT so good?

Well, IMO it's all hype. BFGs are what the "cool" kids run. I hated the BFG A/Ts that I had in the past and they cost A LOT. They did horrible for me in wet/slush, and just ok off road. Duratracs all the way!!
 
If you wheel at all...then do NOT get an AT tire. An MT can easily last as long. My jeep used to be a daily driver/weekend wheeler (damn near EVERY weekend) and I got 65Kmi out of a set fo BFG MTs. Just make sure to check your tire pressure often and rotate/balance them often. If the lugs are spaced far apart, then you need to rotate in a cross pattern.

I see alot of BFG ATs on everything from S-10s to Wranglers in town. Never been one to run with the "cool kids" otherwise I would own a Jeep, right? :lol:

You are the only person that I have ever seen to get 65,000 out of a set of BFG MTs.

You can't tell me that you will get the same mileage out of the Revo 2 and the MTRs.
 
BFGs are too much tire for most people that own them as I see them on vehicles that will never see off road or even come close and on road they are a so-so tire and I have had experience on them on several trucks for the last 20 years.

Discount tire pushes these tires on everybody including my mom who said she would never take her 4Runner off road and I steered her to a set of more sensible Yokohama AT-S.

BFGs rock off road but on road their wet weather manners and hydroplane resistance left me with a lot more to be desired on my DD and they cost a couple hundred bucks more than my Duratracs did. (the BFGs were over $1000 to buy)

Too many people drink the BFG kool-aid and think they are the best tire ever just because they see them all over and don't do any real research. I might put them on a weekend warrior but on a DD there's better choices IMO.

I've never run a revo 2, but a lot of my wheeling buddies run the MTR (the older version) and you are correct, they dont get as much mileage as BFGs. They will usually sipe the center lugs of the MTR. The MTR is made from a much softer compound since it is specifically dedicated to rocks....which obviously means it will wear faster.

IMO, the BFG MT is a great all around tire for weekend wheeling (on various terrain) and daily driving.
