Tire Question

you will be fine. i see people put 285's on stock 2o's, not the best idea but they do so you will be fine with your rims

...what if any issues would arise from running these tires on stock rims?

No problem fitting them on the rims. Getting that much tire on your truck without rubbing is another matter though...

From "Tire Size/Fitment" here, you're looking at removing mud flaps, moving the fender liners, chopping the body mounts, and installing a body lift to fit 285/70. 285/75 is going to be even larger and more difficult. Not sure, but you might also have clearance issues between the tire and upper control arm.

You won't have any issue running it on a stock wheel only possible issues are the ones stated about, a 285/70R17 if what most people are running, 285/75's are going to be taller, closer to a 34".

No problem with doing any of that and thanks for the reply. Just wondering how I could have UCA clearance issues with a 285/75 tire vs a 285/70 when both tires are the same width. I do have 1.5 inch wheel spacers on as well...

FWIW I have 5100's with 884's up front (got well over 3") and 5100's w/superflexes in the back with TC UCA's and 1.5" all-pro spacers.

Yeah thats what I'm looking for. Would go for 35's but only have the V6 and don't feel like tearing up the tranny that much. Pretty much solely for aesthetics and don't plan to ever have it at full flex. Figured 34's are a happy medium.

You should be fine on clearance to the UCA with your wheel spacers, just keep in mind they'll make clearances to the body mount / fender liner even tighter at full lock (since the wheels stick out another 1.5" further from the pivot point, their arc path with move forward/rearward more).

I think some members had tire to stock UCA rubbing problems on some make/models of pretty wide (read:285ish) tires, don't remember specifics though but thought it was worth mentioning for your plans. With spacers and TC arms, you're good to go.

With that much suspension lift, you might not need a body lift! Or you might just get rubbing if you're at full lock and a wheel gets stuffed. Could your tire place mount 1 up for you first to check fitment in front? If you use the spare you'd still have your existing set of tires to get around on while you keep wrenching/cutting/welding.
