Tire Question

How many of you guys out there replace all 5 tires when getting new ones....meaning, even the full sized spare?

Also, is what the T4R offers unique with regard to locking differential and 4LO? Do the competitors such as the Nissan XTerra/Pathfinder/Armada or Honda Pilot or Jeep Grand Cherokee Rubicon offer this also?

I don't think too many people replace the spare, but I think it is good idea to, and I will when I replace my tires. There is a currently a thread about this going on now.

Most care based SUVs don't offer a locking centre diff. I think the Honda Pilot lets you lock it below a certain speed in first or second. No car based SUVs have low range (that I know of).

The Xterra doesn't have a centre diff. There is a transfer case that splits the torque 50/50 front/rear. This is how most 4x4s opperate. The 4runner is somewhat unique in that it offers a centre diff (like car based models) and the option to lock it fully at any speed or gear for real offroading. Lo range is nomrally only found in truck based models (4Runner, Xterra, Pathfinder, Grander Cherokee etc.). Pilot and Armada (I think) are car based models.
