'08 4Runner Limited...looking for something that's good in wet driving not off road. It seem every consumer rating I read, every tire has issues so I'm looking for real life experience here. I do a lot of highway so a quiet tire also required. Thanks in advance for any and all input.

+ on the AT3s , we just had two days of serious rain for US n Vegas & mine were awesome ! Wet roads with oil slick on most because of our extra long fall (warm temps) even tried to hit em hard to engage abs straight as you can get !

when did you put those on? i had the same tires on before i got my michelins and they were dry rotted and constantly lost traction in any wet conditions..i know there were two generations, maybe you got the good one

I put them on about a year ago. Prior to that I had them on my v6 4runner 2 years earlier. Had no issues with either set. Just a very good experience. I guess it could also depend how long the shop I bought them from had them and how they were stored.
Good tires IMO.

The Yoko Geolander HTS GO51's were the worst tires I have ever owned. They are scary when roads are wet - and are downright DANGEROUS in the snow. Replaced them after only 3 months and ate the costs. Couldn't in good conscience re-sell them to anyone. Went with Firestone Destination AT's and haven't regretted it.

i sold these tires for a couple years and your the first I've ever heard complain about dry rot! and i live in the Sonoran desert!! :sorry: i have no issue when it rains. idk!
I just put 4 Michelin LTX MS/2s on my truck over the summer. Shopped around for awhile and ended up paying about $800 for the set. They are great for what you want. I do a ton of highway driving as well and basically no offroading and they are literally silent. I couldnt believe how quiet they were when I first put them on. Never had any traction issues in wet weather. They have a long warranty as well. They replaced Michelin Cross Terrains, that were on the truck for 106000 miles and still had tread left on them to pass inspection and I expect these to hold up just as well.

Nothing to be sorry about. There are too many variables to count that would cause such differing opinions. I mentioned them because the OP said lots of highway, likes quiet, and no off road.
These tires are only OK in snow IMO but that's what I expected from an all season tire. But on 2 occasions I've driven over 30 miles in 12+" storms with these and had no issue - obviously diving very cautiously of course.
