I have had these on my 4runner ever since I bought it. They were put on by the previous owner. The size I am running is 31's and there is no rub at all. They come with a 50,000 mile waranty and are about $62.24 each from Wallmart.
I think the ride is quite good, the grip is ok, nothing special. The noise on the road is actually pretty quiet. Overall if you are looking for a daily driver that won't see much off road but looks off road these are hard to pass up. Looks play a huge part of purchase, if you're curious my signature has a picture of what the tires look on a totally stock '96.

Dakota Definity 265/75/16 A/T from pepboys. they are made buy cooper tire.
$88 each (BFG wannabees at half the price!!!!)
louder than my firestone indy 500's but not annoying. sounds like a truck tire
slight rubbing at extreme stuff (stock susp)
50,000 mile warranty
i have 5k miles on them and they have impressed me
clear well on the trails. i am a weekend warrior, not hard core wheeler. these are still pretty good on the road and handle great in the rain. i heard the bfg's hydroplained in the puddles and these have yet to hydroplane ( i have been hiting the deep puddles hard)

I think the ride is quite great, the grip is good,never been stuck. There is no noise on the road. A great mall crawler tire, i cant seem to wear mine out.

I used to be very active in my last truck club, TTORA Nor Cal chapter, and used to be the chapter President as well. But that was when i had my Tacoma with 33" BFG Mud T/A's and it was lifted about 7 inches. My olny hold back for not lifting or going SAS with the 4Runner is because im getting married in about 6 months and a family vehicle will be needed shortly after impregnation, lol. Im not looking to spend a lot on tires, but i woudl like something that i can go almost anywhere i want, some mild trails, snow, and sand dunes.

Nitto TerraGrappler ATs w/12k on them at the moment.
On-line prices are a little over $100 for 265/75/16
I got mine through my local Discount Tire with all the trimmings for a bit over $600 and it is nice to have somebody else handy to rotate my tires.
On road performance: Great dry grip and I do like to carry speed through corners and they aren't showing any wear. Great resistance to hydroplaning (BFG ATs do lack in this area ) and great turn-in on ice and snow.
Off road they handle the intermediate trail riding and rock crawling that I encounter and they really resist trail wear and rock rubbing on the sidewalls.
In short the TGs are hard to beat for a daily driver that will do some occassional real trail riding and on the average cost $200 less than a set of BFGs and will outhandle them on the pavement in every respect especially the wet. I know this because I've driven on a few sets of BFGs and will never go back unless it was for a mainly off road vehicle since I do think they are just a tad more durable in the rocks but the TGs aren't far behind.
They do posses a 500 treadwear rating which means they should at least see 50k out of them which is fien with me since after five years tires do tend to get kinda hard and lose dry grip so the TGs fit me perfectly.
They do only come in D and E load rating and I have D which is a bit stiff over bumps but not really a big deal since the Runner feels like the truck it is.
TGs are a bargain for what they give you in return.

Expensive ($180 per tire), pretty good grip, NOISY (forget enjoying the stock radio, ROAR), decent ride...pretty much sums it up. I LOVE the look of these tires and I only drive about 30 miles per day on the highway, so the noise doesn't get on my nerves at all. They're bouncy at very slow speeds and I wouldn't recommend trying to take any curves with them. They're just awesome to look at and they've done their job quite well in the mud I've put them through.

Great timing for this thread. I need to buy tires before the end of the month for inspection and I'm searching everywhere to determine which tire I should get. Right now I have sucky Kelly tires that I can't wait to get rid of. I'd like to get a decent tire, but I'd rather not spend all my money on them.
The Bridgestone Dueler Revos and Alenzas both look like great tires and have outstanding reviews everywhere, but it seems like nobody here in Pittsburgh stocks them (they can get them in, but OTD price would be near $800). Same thing with the Nitto Grapplers...I can't find them in pgh. I'm tempted to just buy some BFG longtrail T/As from Sam's Club because they are cheap and a name brand. I've been dissatisfied with off-brands I've purchased in the past.
Does anyone have any words of encouragement on why I should splurge for the Revos or Alenzas? Does anyone have anything good to say about the BFGs? Thanks for the help.

Revos vs BFG
I had a set of BFG KOs on my Ford Explorer, they were great tires! They were a bit loud and $$$. I just picked-up an 02' sport and had a hard time trying to decide if I should go with the BFGs again or try the Revos.
To me the BFGs cost more, and looked and felt more aggressive.
I went with the Revos and they were a lot cheaper (265/75/16, cost me $649 out the door @ Tires Plus not including a $75 mail-in rebate = $574 total). They look aggressive, and they are a lot quieter than the BFGs, they also came with a 50k mile warranty. I don't play in the mud much, so I think this was a better choice for me. But I still think both tires are great!

I had Hankook 22's on my GMC Yukon Denali and absolutely loved them. I put about 10k miles on them and they looked nearly new, which I didn't expect since most of the guys I knew with 22's told me I'd be lucky to get 20K miles out of that size tire. They were quite affordable compared to the other brands as well...so as a brand, I highly recommend them!
