Having a weird issue with my '06 4runner and figured I'd ask here before heading to the dealer or a tire shop.
Background info:
2006 4runner V6 base model
140,000 miles
Factory size General Grabber AT2's with about 15k on them
Everything's all factory, no modifications
The issue is excessive road noise and a slight wobble/vibration in the wheel at highway speeds. The noise is definitely coming from the front driver side area. My initial thought was a bad wheel bearing. With this, I decided to swap the front and rear tires (kept tires on the rims, just moved the front to the back). The noise then moved to the rear driver side tire. Had all 4 tires balanced on Thursday, still having the same issue. I threw the spare tire on in place of the noisy tire, still made some noise but not quite as bad.
Is this looking like a bent rim possibly? The tire doesn't show any more wear than the other tires. When I moved it to the back the wobble was more pronounced and the car felt unstable at highway speeds.
