Tire shop scratched my rims!!!

I was looking at my rims again after just putting tires on and noticed this exact same scratch on 3 of the 4 rims!? Wtf i honestly dont remember the rims having any marks whatsoever! They were take offs from a brand new 4runner.

Is this a tell tale sign it was from discount tire? Im going to call them tomorrow..

Yep. It's from not using condoms on the metal bars they use to pop the beads. I used to work at a tire and rim shop. Make them make it right!

So are you referring to that perfectly round stratch about 3/16":away from the edge of the rim?
If so at least it is nice and even.

My rims looked like someone hit them with sledge hammers the first time I went off road..

Yup thats it....haha i guess there is always a bright side to everything. If they were beat up i wouldn't care. But these things were like new!

I would get the tire shop to fix them, then find a new tire shop. After having wheels on a new MINI Cooper beat up by a European auto garage full of Porsches and Ferraris, I wrote them off my list. I now show the tech before they start work... "See these rims, they're not scratched or dented. Are you going to make sure they stay that way?"

Finally got my rims back and they look like new. Discount tire didn't ask one question they knew they were at fault. Bad thing is they only damaged 3 of the 4 so i have one rim that doesn't look as good! haha

Shoulda told them to do all 4 so they match, and if they turned you down on it, find out who did the cutting and polishing of the wheel so you could get the 4th one done on your own!
