tire size on a 1999

Ok, I have read alot of threads on tire size on here, however what makes me worried is that Discount tire told me today that putting a 265/75/16 will be awefully tight, the vehicle came with 265/70/16's on it and now has 245/75/16 on it. That is what was on it when I bought it. It has 250,000 miles on it and I am ordering the 265/75/16, but from what I can tell it is gonna be awfully tight.

Anyone think they won't fit?

Well I think I have narrowed it down to either the Nitto Terra Grappler AT or the BFG All Terrain AT. The prices through Discount tire are way better than anyone in the area. I'm just gonna keep searching on both of them and decide by next week. Just wish I didn't have so many things to do to it. Maybe I will win the lotto tonight.

I have the taller factory coils but even on the slightly shorter ones rubbing should be very minimal with 265/75s

This is with my TGs when they were new

And with the Duratracs which seem a bit bigger than the 265/75 Nittos.

Kaufmann tire was confused about my stock tire size...I had to show him the sticker on the inside of the door to prove that mine came with 265/75...you won't have any problems...

I have BFG AT KO, 265/75-16's on my stock suspension....no rubbing whatsoever. You'll be fine.

Are you sure? I've never heard about this.

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall reading somewhere in the past that the 4runners that came with the tow package and 4.56 gears had 265/75s from the factory. Maybe someone else can verify for sure. Either way, I had no rubbing when I was running them.

Buy the Nitto's, they are very capable, and i never had any issues with them and they have a 40 or 50k mile warrenty on them.
