tire size options after lift

greetings,

my 1st post after purchasing my 4runner. its a sr5 v6 4x4. now i have done some research but all i can find was people asking about the largest tire they can run on stock wheels with stock suspension. my question is... im about to put in the toytec fj spacer lift with toytec rear coils. i also purchased the 1" body lift and spidertrax spacers. i want to keep the stock wheels being that i have powder coated them. i do not want to compromise gas mileage but at the same time i do not like a skinny tire look. also would i be able to fit 33's? i dont know how my 265's that i have on would look. suggestions??

Go to the build thread and look at different member's 4Runner pictures. There are a variety across the board. Some are running 265/70's and some are running 285's.

You can't have it both ways unfortunately. 265/70-17's (if you have 17" wheels) won't hurt your mileage much and really look pretty good. 285's with that amount of lift you are planning do look better, but will hurt the mileage more. I had a Dodge Ram with a 6" lift running 35's with a Hemi, so my 4Runner is a hero on gas mileage no matter what size tire I run!

Good luck with your choice, it's a difficult one. Don't discount the 265/70's, they will surprise you.
 
thanks for your input. yea i have clicked through the 148 pages of the lift section haha. a lot of people run different wheels or do not have the setup im getting with the stock wheels. im hoping the wheel spacers give the illusion of a wider tire. because im running 265/70's now stock so im assuming i get get taller ones. i do not know how that translates into inches when people say 33's.
