Tire strategy time?

Recently purchased a 2004 Limited V8 4x4. Previous owner gave me 4 extra alloy OEM rims to mount up.

Colorado mountain car

Tire set #1 NEW Bridgestone Dueler h/t for summer.

Tire set #2 (snooooowy icey goodness with occasional highway miles)
Agressive mud tire (read: knobby, bigger) or
studded General a/t2 or something.

Im just being a scaredy cat thinking I'm pigeonholing myself by buying studdies when I could probably get away with a BFG or the like? Help!

Thanks for input, opinions, but especially advice.
