tire/wheel question

Ive got a 06 sport with a OME suspension. I'm wondering what size tire should I go with and what size wheel should I go with. I'm not very familiar with the tire/wheel world and need some help. I know I want to stick with 17" wheels but 17X??? I'm moving to Alaska in the near future for work and want my baby trail ready before I drive up there. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

285/70/17 with 17x8 will be fine

Check the prices for tires here and in AK. It might be better to get new tires up there and drive across the continent on the smaller tires.

I thought about doing that but everything has to be shipped to AK so everything is a bit more than in the lower 48.
