Tire/Wheel Swap Question

Have a stock 06 SR5 with 265/65-17 tires and thinking about replacing with oem 2013 4runner wheels/tires. Those tires are 265/70-17. Other than speedo being off 2 mph while on the highway, will there be other issues (offset diff or rubbing while turn)? Any input or pics if you've done it would be great.

You may have rubbing on the front fender and mudflaps. I took my mudflaps off and pushed the front inner fender skirts fwd about .5 to 1 inch. No rubbing. Not hard to do. Fills the wheel well nicely.

You'll be fine, maybe a little rubbing but likely little or none since the 06+ has slightly larger wheel wells.

I ran Duratrac 265/70R17s on my 06 Sport for years before lifting without any rubbing issues.

Yeah..

The reduced offset of the 13' wheels combined with the larger diameter tire, will increase the probability of rub. Im on 14' sr5 wheels with 255/75/17s and the tires rub on the raised bit of my front mudguards. With a little trimming or removal of the mud guards you should be fine.

i would assume you're going to lose a bit of comfort? not enough sidewall to absorb bumps and what not. And it make the wheel well look huge. just curious, why would you want to down size?

That would be a 29.5" tire... too short and look silly.

I was thinking about it cause I can get a really good deal on a set of 4 brand new Goodyear Eagle RSA for $250... So was just wondering what the cons will be if I go that route...

i would assume you're going to lose a bit of comfort? not enough sidewall to absorb bumps and what not. And it make the wheel well look huge. just curious, why would you want to down size?

yeah it isn't enough savings to go that route to be honest.

Buy them if they are a steal, and then resell them. American way.
