tires and wheels for a 2015 trail

I've got a bone stock '15 gray Trail edition with about 35k miles on it. Soon it will be time to replace the tires. I also want to upgrade the stock wheel to something black. I love the look of the TRD wheels but wondering if there is something else
that would be a better option. Seems like I recall a local shop that worked on my jeep trying to dissuade me from doing TRD wheels on the T4R for some reason. Previously I had Nitto trail grapplers on my jeep an loved them. I know a lot of you guys love the K02 tire.

What would be good tire wheel combo for my T4R? I would consider a slight lift in needed to accommodate bigger tires.

We just bought a 2018 TRD off road. We have a set of TRD Pro wheels and 285/70r17 terra grapplers tires off the 4th gen we traded in. I’d be really interested to see how they look and fit on the trail/off road.

I always prefer the clean look of factory wheels over aftermarket personally. Not to mention there is often a world of difference in quality. That being said SCS wheels look amazing to me. If I were going aftermarket that’s what I would look into.

ICON Rebound wheels

Those Trail Edition rims are better than the TRD Pro wheels. The rim size is 17x7.5". The TRD Pro are 17x7", IIRC.

If you want something wider for bigger tires take a look at the ICON rims. The Rebound wheels are 17x8.5" with 0" offset. Perfect for the T4R. The SCS rims also look good and they are lighter than most. The ICON are rated for a higher load.

I got my best deal on the ICON rims from Total Automotive Las Vegas. Better than the price from SCS.

I've got trd pro black rims and recently fitted them with cooper st maxx in 255/75/17. Honestly my original trail rims provide better protection for the valve stem but I also liked the black look and style of the trd pro rims. The fn wheels are nice also, I just wanted to have a toyota OEM rim even though it was not OEM for my trail. I prefer a skinny tire, thus the 255 and just so happens the st maxx is a "C" load in that size while the duratrac was "SL". BF all terrains use to be the tire all others were compared to but I think the duratrac is preferred these days. Lots of tires on the market, do your research and pick what you think is the best for your application. Lift doesn't help fit larger tires, the wheel well is still the same size.
