Tires for 2006 with Revtek lift

Newbie here, just purchased a 2006 and going to install the Revtek 3" lift. I've read a lot of threads about the 285/70/17 rubbing while some replies say they don't rub at all.

Does anyone know if this sized tire will rub? Should I just go with the 275/70/17 to make sure it won't rub?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I did a revtek 3/2, as far as I'm concerned you can't beat it for the money, I have 265/70/17's Duratracs with zero rubbing issues. hope this helps.

A 275/70/17 will probably fit very well, little movement required, very minimal trimming if any. I have 275/65/18 duratracs, which are the same size as a 275/70/17. I removed front mud flaps and moved fender liner forward.

I was until you asked me .

What would you recommend? I liked the revtek because of the price. Would the money be better spent on the OME from Toytec? Again, any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Is the lift sheerly for looks/mild offroad/serious wheeling? U i have daystar spacer lift plus fj coils all around, gives a little more than 3" of lift. There is no clear concensus on ome. No debate about it being a great company, they have great products. Some just report that the full ome lift on a daily driver can be very stiff... What you plan to use it for really is the biggy!

Mainly for looks and camping, nothing serious, yet. I imagine in a year or so I'll want to get more serious into wheeling but right now riding on forest roads and getting places I wouldn't be able to with a car.

Im thinkin your best bet would be to go with some bilstein 5100s and a rear spacer. The bilsteins are height adjustable, so you can set the front all the way up to 2.5. For the rear, buy a daystar 1.5" or a cornfed 2", and yoll be set to upgrade on tires, as well as have a much better ride and decent lift starting out! Doesnt sound like you need ome or coilovers yet, and those bilsteins are a great option even for pretty intense offroading.
The revtek is a good kit and you ciuld go with that and be happy with it a while! Just giving another available strong option

what about 255/80r17 under the revtek lift? they're 33's but not as wide as 285's think they will fit without a problem? im looking at this setup but im not completely sure I want some more opinions before i buy any advice for me right now is good advice so please help me out haha:thanks:
