Tires for my truck. Any recommendations?

I have an '88 4runner. It only has a 3" body lift. I'm aiming for 33x12.50x15 or 16" wheel. Not sure yet. Going to Summit Racing tuesday to take a look. Far as I have found they are the cheapest if you actually go and pick them up. But I am just wondering: with just a 3" body lift what's the biggest I can go without running into problems if any were to occur? Currently I am riding on 31x10.50x15. Also, I'm kinda looking for a good tire that will last long and perform well on and off the road. One that could do well in the mud as well. Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. are your torsion bars cranked up at all?
A friend of mine has general grabber at2s, and I think for the price they are a very nice tire. I have pro-comp ats (gay) and his tires, though an 'off' brand are much more aggressive than mine. What kinds of terrain will you be dealing with?
I had cooper stt's on my 05 v8 sport and was very much a fan of those, ill most likely get some stt's in 33x12.5 for this truck once my penny loafers wear out. If i were rich and my motor was strong and i had proper gearing, id get toyo mtrs.

i have the general grabber at2's and i love them!!! they are the 33's and i couldnt be happier, i had wildcat at's before and these are way better... just my opinion. but ive done mud, sand, wet roads, dirt roads, havnt had any probelmes!!!!

I run Falken wildpeak 33/12/15 at's. Super quiet ride and decent tread design.
Approx. 150.00 a tire.
