tires for stock FJ wheels?

A buddy of mine is willing to sell me all 5 of his stock FJ wheels for $50. I'd consider buying them if I knew that I could put some large AT tires on them without any rubbing on my 4runner.

Anyone have any insight?

or

265/70/17
...I'd probably do Revo 2, BFG A/T, BGF M/T, GY Duratrac if they make it in that size.

but

...if you're willing to lift it, I'd go straight to 33s aka 285/70/17

265/70-17 is the stock size on the SR5 Harper7 is running 275/70-17s on his limited which I think is as big as you can go at the stock ride height.

I don't think 16" rims will fit over the brake calipers on the new 2010 4runner. Save your $50.

He's correct in that 16's won't work with the bigger brakes on 2010 4Runners.

However ,almost all FJ rims are 17 inch since 2007 with exception to the 5 spoke,which I believe are 2006,and the 6 spoke TRD wheels,they are 16's.

Has anyone tried using 275/55 on stock 20 inch rims for the Limited? I think the rims are quite nice, but want wider width. The 17inch rims are good but dont want the sidewall flex and I want firmer feel.

Do you think the 17 inch fj cruiser steel wheels would fit on the 2010 limited. I just don't want to use the 20's off road so I was going to buy a cheap set of wheels for when I venture off road. I was going to fit them with 255/75/17 BFG MT's - I found the steel wheels online for $75 each - any idea's on finding for less than that?

Yep , The 255/75/17's should work perfect.

If your looking for a set of 17 inch FJ wheels ,I have a set of 5 that were new takeoffs. They are the silver aluminum 6 spoke from a 2008 FJ and are 17 X 7.5 . I paid $350 for them. They are yours for the same price if you want them as I was going to put them up for sale on CL. PM me or text me if your interested in them.
