Tires Question

I just bought a 96 4Runner that has 31x10.5R15s on it that need replacing. The stock tires are, of course, 225/75R15s. It does have the stock 15"x7" rims on it, and as far as I can tell, everything else is stock. I will drive it to work and back everyday on the highway, but I would like to have the ability to do some light mudding. My first question is, are 31s a good size for me? My second question, which is more important, if I stick with the 31s as I'm thinking I will unless anyone has a huge problem with that, will a 31 fit in the spare cavity? It has an old 225/75R15 in it that has never been on the ground, but has probably been on there for years, so I'm planning on replacing it. Thanks!

yes, a 31 will fit in the spare cavity.

i have 265/75's on and a 265/75 spare.

you can fit a 285 (32/33") if its aired down.

you should go for 265/70's or 265/75s :)

I just got my set of Nittos and I saved my best Maxxis Bravo HT and it's now residing under the truck in place of the stock spare.
