Tires, Rims.. Need a lift kit?? Help!

Looking to throw on some new tires and rims..biggest question is, do I need a lift kit?

Look at this tire: Trail Grappler

and these rims: Fuel D509 Octane - Black - MHT Fuel Off Road Wheels - Aluminum Wheels - Wheels - by 4 Wheel Parts

Since I plan and have been going on the beach - I probably should get the 3 inch lift, but can i do that tire and rim combo without a lift? Is a lift kit easy to install?

What tire size? Probably would want to look at a less aggressive tire if all your off-highway driving is done on sand.

That tire looks to good to use something else. What other tire would you suggest? I saw the Mud Grappler and Dune Grappler made by them, but the one in the link looks sweet!

Looking to go 17in if possible.. 18in if need be.

FYI.. this is some deep sand and can be wet/damp at times as its right along the ocean beach on Long Island

I had mixed results with the nitto trail grappler on sand. When aired I found the sidewalls still to stiff. They were great in the mud and other conditions, but felt they were too stiff for a lighter truck on sand. I find the BFG 3ply sidewall a little better flexing for me.

I have the BFG all terrain T/A KO tires now, does great on sand. Does BFG make a tire similar to the trail grappler in style?

In another thread I read that some went with much bigger tires and needed no lift? I'm very lost with the rims and tires sizes, never had to do a mod like this before.

Km2 is the BFG mt tire.

The Dune Grappler will probably be good if your going to be on the sand a lot. I just got the Trail Grappler last week and love them. But I don't really go on the sand. Here is a pic of mine with an 18" wheel.

Looks awesome man. would you recommend the toytec ult. lift or would you go another route?
