No on Falken's at half tread they are slick, sipes only go half way. Its crazy. They did give me good warranty discount though.

Interesting and good to know. My neighbor has 40k+ miles on his and wearing really well. Not sure if truck weight makes a difference but he drives a toyota tacoma. I will have to go see if he has any sipes left or if only certain sizes have full sipe depth vs partial sipe depth.

i have the cooper discoverer ATPs on one of my trucks, their pretty decent. Not sure about the AT3s though. Id stick with the BFgoodrich A/Ts though if i were u.

im running the 255s bfg MT w/ blistens and fj shocks on all 4s. great ride. noise is minimum and they look great. no real lost in mpgs just my 2cents

When I spoke with discount they kinda said the same thing, they were not sure why Falken had a half sipe tire. Mine lasted 24k, I still had a lot of depth to base of the tire, heck maybe half tread depth, but sipes were GONE! I did receive a $130 credit for them.

I do like the looks of the AT2 are they just a redesigned sidewall from the original AT? Anybody running them now.

I'm running Firestone Destination AT's and I like them. They are a good all-around tire and not bad price-wise. I've got about 45k on them and they still have a decent amount of tread left.

alot of falkens are like that. not just the ones you mention. i have gotten my share of broken belts, out of round, tread separation ect. personally i am not here to bash them. just my experience with them in the last 10 years.

How many miles are you getting out of duratracs? Noisy?

had mine for a couple thousand as well. They are awesome, so glad I stuck with them and didn't do something else.

When I have had random women compliment them, i knew I made the right choice. I won't let the wife know that.

If you want to know the negatives of any particular AT tire, just holler at me. I've used just about all of them.

The Falken sucks. The outer blocks are only 9/32 deep and at half wear they become racing slicks with no bite whatsoever. They also hold gravel reallllly bad and then unleash them on your rocker panels. Additionally, they are the heaviest AT tires I've ever used. Kiss your MPGs goodbye. They are made in Thailand and track all over the lane when new until the rubber wears in some. Miserable wet offroad traction as well.

The Firestone was an excellent all around tire. I just wasn't happy with the wear. At 25,000 miles mine were down to 5/32nds already.

The Goodyear Duratrac is an amazing tire, but the sidewalls are weak and prone to failure and the price is insane on them now days. They also got quite a bit louder after the first cross-rotation.

I'd say my favorite tire so far is the Cooper AT3. It's cheap, bites hard in all terrains, has an awesome mileage warranty, is made in USA, and it is #1 on Consumer Reports. Although my advice is to purchase it's cousin the Hercules AT2 instead because it has the same technology but runs slightly bigger in the 265/70 size.

this.

ive got a metric shitton of miles on my BFG's. I cant wear them out.

I said it long ago, I think they'll rot off the truck, before they wear out. theyre going on 10 years old now...

How did you rotate yours? I'm going to do mine soon before it gets too cold and I'm thinking of swapping the back two with each other same in the front.

you mean to leave the fronts on the front, just opposite sides?

that's not a good idea, they wont wear well.

they need to be moved to the rear to maintain a flat tread.

the only time you need to cross them to the back, is when they've already started to wear badly. from being on the front too long, or any number of other reasons. once they start to cup, its very hard to straighten them out.
but, crossing them to the back is the best, and fastest way to do it.

So you're saying go front driver to rear driver and front pass to rear pass?
