My customer is a complete moron. He spent $1100 on a set and I said you could buy a cheaper set and wait for the rebate. Idiot said it's his money and he can throw it away on crappie tires if he wanted to. I was trying to look up all the sites that said they suck, but I couldn't get on wxmans interweb. Firewalled. I told him the inter webs say it sucks, and he doesn't know what he is taking about.

Keep in mind, the Cooper AT3 wasn't out yet. So it is easy for me to believe that the Hankook was the best AT tire on the market at that time. I actually have used the Hankook in the 265 size and loved them.

Not sure if anyone is still paying attention or not but I will throw in my opinion. I have ran a lot of different tires over the years (BFG a/t's, BFG KM2's, g/y MTR's, Toyo M/t's) and IMO for the money the duratracs are hard to beat for an all around tire. I think they bridge the gap between a/t's and m/t's very well. I currently have them on my 4runner and 01 superduty and I have zero complaints. The MTR's, KM2's, and Toyos are probably superior in a strictly off road application but I wouldn't put the duratracs very far behind. The duratracs are significantly cheaper than that list and will last longer as well.

I am running the Nitto Terra Grapplers. They are more of an a/t tire but I rotate them every 5,000 miles at Discount Tire and I am almost at the 75,000 mile point with them and they still have another 10,000 miles on them. They are excellent on road, off road and also in rain and snow. I would highly recommend them.

The only drawback to me is the fact they aren't that aggressive as other tires. I believe next time I am going to go with the GY Duratracs or Kelly Safari TSR's. I love the look of them and a buddy of mine with an FJC has them and speaks very highly of them. Another tire to look at would be the Kelly Safari TSR. It is almost identical to the GY Duratrac and is actually made my GY. You can research them here and they are reasonably priced.

thats insanely deep treads. this is why they suck the most.....they dry rot before they wear out! he could have made it thru the winter but said they dry rotted out, naah lets change them!!!!

what is truely amazing is the sipes, very very few of them are gone AFTER almost 70k!!!!!! and they not at the wear bars yet!

I mean what tire can say that? tread that deep, lasts that long? OMG!!!!!!!!

great thing is now i get a 33" spare tire for me in 16" lol to mount on my spare.

I do not understand the hate for Falken Rocky Mountain ATS or Wild Peak AT, it is obvious the haters have never had them installed. I am 35,000+ miles into my RM ATS and still really like them. They roll nice and quiet in the highway, wet weather traction is still excellent, snow traction is very good (wet snow and dry snow) and they worked great in the dirt this last summer.

When I am ready for another set of tires and assuming nothing new comes in that is a world beater them I will install another set. Lastly for the money (on Discount Tire), they are at least $20 less per tire and the next closest AT tire.

Hankook DynaPro ATm is a nice tire but when I was ready to buy in July 2011 I found a lot of road noise complaints thus I steered away from them.
