I have Toyota AT Open Country in stock size. Definitely more aggressive than stock, but just as quite. I have an app on my phone that measures sound. Got a reading before and after on the same road at the same speed. Meter showed the same level within +/- 2 dB.

The one tire I would stay away from is Toyo AT2. I've had a LOT of balancing problems with them. So far I've had 7 tires to get 4 that sorta balance. 2 are good enough to use up front and 2 are only able to be static balanced - so they're kinda only used on the rear tires (and yes that means I don't rotate them). None of the 7 could be balanced with road force balance without having so much weight that you'd have to double or triple stack tape weights on the rim and they usually don't stay on when you do that. I only have 35k miles total - and they were the second aftermarket set, so they haven't had a ton of miles on them.

The plus side is that they have proven to be really durable in all sorts of terrain and have great traction on the rocks. They're pretty quiet on the street. And they're pretty good in snow/ice conditions. I'm probably going to ditch the whole set and buy something else in the spring. I have one last offroad trip planned this fall and then I'll be running on my street wheels/tires until spring most likely.

I think it may be just an issue with this particular size or something. Lots of good reviews on them. Maybe I'm just unlucky? I have no idea. All I can say for sure is that my experience would push me toward something else just for balancing issues. Everything else was good.

Looks like the BFG KO2s are getting some bad reviews in regard to wet weather. This is my daily driver and being in Houston where it rains a lot, I am leaning towards Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx. Thoughts on their performance?

if you're concerned of road noise, just turn your radio on and call it a day.

Road noise from mud tires is cool! I like it!

I went with Falken MT01 tires. Good ride with not much road noise compared to other Mud terrains I have sat in.

Wondering if there is a pic somewhere with the top 5 or 6 tires literally sitting next to each other for a head-on comparison of tread pattern? K02, Duratracs, ST Maxx, Nitto Ridge, Nitto Trail, Falken AT3, etc...?

285/70/17 Falken AT3 wild peaks, quieter than most, not bad on mileage, and good traction on all. Also aggressive looking.

If you really want an MT I was happy with my 295/70/18s Nitto Trail Grapplers on my Tundra. Those were definitely better then my BFG MTs on my Jeep.

No lift stock, did the fender mod and removed the mud flaps... i just put then back on though, after cutting it so it wont rub.

Sweet... I'm getting the same tires and in the same size for my stock height PRO. How do you like the AT3/W's so far? Notice a hit to the MPG? Feel any more sluggish than normal? lol

Little hit on the MPG, if anything i lost about .5 mpg, as long as your not gunning it haha. As for sluggish-ness, they're heavier tires so it does take more to accellerate, but after that its smooth saling. Going 80+ on highway and still maintain a good 22+ mpg. they're awesome tires and perform great! Have not had any issues.
