Tjm fj cruiser 2" lift kit from toytec

HI, Just ordered this lift kit and I was trying to see if anyone else had this one and could express their opinions/pictures/etc. I didn't want anything to aggressive and am pretty noobish on all this. Thanks for any help.
The shocks and springs are a yellowish/gold, looks good.

Finally did some research on this and some other forums. This is an Australian based off road company that has been doing business since the early 70' or 80's. They seem similiar to ARB. Many other members on some other forums seem happy and Toytec also reassured me of this being a good choice for what I was looking for.

So let us know what you think of it. Did you have them assemble the front shocks for you? Looks like it's about the same cost as the Bilstein kit, but with just a two inch lift you should be able to keep the stock UCA. Is the plan to keep stock UCAs or did you buy new?


One more question: do you have the spring rate of the coils I didn't see it listed.

Not sure of the spring rate. I think they are kind of soft; but I don't get too crazy anyways.

I actually live in the Woodlands, TX north of Houston. Just started to fix this thing up. I spent a lot of $$ on basic maintenance and repairs to get it they way I like it (clean and well taken care of).

Curious how it goes for you. I want to replace my near-150k miles XREAS and would like to get a little lift but really have no need for a 3" lift as I won't be offroading.

I'd especially like to get the stance evened out front to back.

Here it is lifted. Sorry my comp is messed up at home, so I have to use my iPhone. Will take some more soon. It rides much nicer and raised it in the front like 5inches from where it sat before. Looks great!

When I first saw this thread I got excited and tag'ed it because I would love to find a true 2" spring lift my for 4runner but after thinking about I realized that if this lift is rated as a 2" lift for an FJ, then it would have to end up being at least a 3-4" lift on a 4runner because the FJ's start out a couple of inches taller then the 4runner. You're pics confirmed what I was assuming.

With no diff drop, I got to wonder about your CV angles now? (ETA - looking at the pics again, they don't look bad, I wonder how that is possible?) What about your alignment? Without aftermarket UCA's and that much lift, you have to be maxed out?

Yes it did lift it about 4"s from tire to top of fender. No diff drop required per Toytec lifts. I had an 08' 4x4 taco with a OME and my axle went out, but can't confirm if it was the lift. I heard Toyota's axles in general don't do too well from other forums. I guess it pays to play though.
I will say it rides very nice now and have had a lot of compliments.

Looks great. TJM offers a great product for a reasonable price, just not very popular in the US.

There is no need for a diff drop at this amount of lift. The diff drop doesn't work nearly as well on the 4th Gen as it did on the 3rd Gen.
